He wants super firm, and I want super soft. We decided to give this product a try. It's wonderful!!! We are both able to sleep comfortably and wake up without any back problems. His too firm mattress would cause pain in my lower back. I don't have any issues with it now. When I first opened it, I could smell a "foam" smell, but that went away after about a week and with the help of some Febreeze. It arrived much quicker than anticipated also. If you are used to sleeping on a sheet of plywood maybe. After the first night we both headed for the ibuprofin and out went the brand new pad.
